Laura Evonne
Steinman, Community Artist
has worked with
people of all ages
facilitating art-making in schools, community centers, neighborhood
backyards, in religious institutions, senior centers, orphanages, and
hospitals. She believes that lives are nurtured and
transformed by creating art together. Laura received her BFA in
Sculpture from Rhode Island School of
Design
(RISD) and her Master of
Art in Art Education (MAAE) with a Concentration in Community Arts from
The
School
of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). She had been
living in Warsaw, Poland since 02' and for 5 years was offering
'artshops' to people of all ages, Volunteering, making books,
painting murals, collaging with paper, chalking and was the Teaching Artist at
The
British School in Warsaw for 2
years. Currently she is living in Boston, sewing a bunch of "Colorful
Matters" using recycled remnants worked as a studio assistant
for "Reclaimed
Wool" and now as an assitant at The
British School in Boston.
