Dear Worldly Friends,
Happy Autumn!
As the colors of the trees change and the light shifts on this side of the world; I stop for a moment to smell the crispness of the day. So much has happened since I last wrote. I've finished a year teaching Art at the Gifford School in Weston, MA. along with living a year in Somerville, MA. I've traveled to the Pacific Northwest and down to Florida. I've been to Canada and around lake Erie, along the Hudson river and all the way to India. I've got so many stories to share and have found love along the way for sure. What I have to reflect on the most is how it felt to be. To be in the moment of a great walk or sitting by a hospital bed. To giggle while eating bad food, to talk to kids that could not walk and being surrounded by amazing colors. All of those little bits are amazing moments. That are so important to step back and remember, to reflect upon as life seems sometimes to just take over me, us. At this season of Autumn of slowing down; the earth begins falls a sleep slowly and shows us some amazing color and beauty as it does that. It also is a time of letting go, which is truly hard for some of us. A time to remember that we must exit one thing, one moment, one season to enter into another. And so, with this season, perhaps you would like to let go of some moments that are only moments now that you would like to leave behind, to exit that place, and enter, or at least plant new thoughts, ideas that will bring amazing moments for the future. This could be done in a piece of visual art , or a song, or maybe a letter to yourself or even planting bulbs outside your home. Whatever it is you might do, do it and leave it to rest this season and come back in the spring and see the wonder that has become. May this season of reflection bring you peace in your heart and mind and joy and may we all be sprinkled with community and love. shalom, shanti, salaam, Laura
