From fall 2002-Summer 07, I volunteered at Children's home #4 I was also subbing for Art at ASW from fall 02-04. I always thought it would be great if somehow these kids/youth could meet each other, learn from each other and create something special.
At last it has begun. Hooray!

A big thanks to ASW H.S. Art Department  & American Friends in Warsaw (AFW)  for financially supporting this project.

Day 1
Thursday, October 7th
The pillow project was introduced. ASW art club students asked and showed the kids/youth at the Children's home how to draw out a picture/design they would like on their own Pillow case. About 20 kids from the home came to create pillowcase designs and about 7 teens from ASW came to help.

Day 2
Thursday, October 21st
Color was added to the pillows with special fabric crayons. The fabric crayons became permanent after being ironed (which a teen helped the kids do).

Also a table was set up for painting the pillowcases with fabric dyes. Red, Yellow, and Blue were places out. If kids wanted other colors they need to remember how to make them. Of course help was very near.
